1.) Step Ups – You can perform this exercise either on the steps of the stairs or on a milk crate. As you begin, place on foot on the platform and the other foot on the ground. Subsequently, lift the entire body upwards while you raise the foot which you have placed on the platform. By doing this, your entire body weight is shifted on the platform. This then gives more emphasis on your legs. Maintain each lift for at least three counts and do about three sets of twenty five reps.
2.) Lunges – This workout promote coordination, balance and quicker muscle growth. Using a single leg, step forward and then lower yourself down and bend both knees and then return to your initial position. Do the same procedure using the other leg. Perform at least thirty reps for about three sets on each leg.
3.) Squats – Weight squats is quite challenging to perform. However, it is a very effective routine that strengthens the leg muscles and as a result, enhances your vertical leap. When performing squats, remember to stand upright and then go downwards while bending the knees and then return to your initial position. Do this exercise for about thirty reps and at least three sets.
